பரமகுரு அருள்நி னைந்திட்	டுணர்வாலே
பரவுதரி சனையை யென்றெற்	கருள்வாயே
தெரிதமிழை யுதவு சங்கப்	புலவோனே
சிவனருளு முருக செம்பொற்	கழலோனே
கருணைநெறி புரியு மன்பர்க்	கெளியோனே
கனகசபை மருவு கந்தப்	பெருமாளே.

Paraphrase

இரு வினையின் மதி மயங்கி திரியாதே (iru vinaiyin madhi mayangi thiriyAdhE) : In order that my mind, dizzied by being mired in the karmas (good and bad), does not wander around ; நல்வினை, தீவினை என்ற இரண்டு வினைகளினால் என்னறிவு மயக்கமடைந்து அலைந்து திரியாமல்,

எழு நரகில் உழலும் நெஞ்சு உற்று அலையாதே (ezhu naragil uzhalu nenjutr alaiyAdhE) : and my heart doesn't sink and meander through the seven hells ஏழு நரகங்களிலும் கலங்கக்கூடிய நெஞ்சத்தைப் படைத்து நான் அலையாமல்,

பரமகுரு அருள் நினைந்திட்டு (parama guru aruL ninaindhittu) : I need to seek the Grace of the Great Preceptor சிறந்த குருவாகிய உன் அருளை நினைவில் வைத்து,

உணர்வாலே பரவு தரிசனையை என்று எற்கு அருள்வாயே (uNarvAlE paravu dharisanaiyai endreRk aruLvAyE) : and perceive intuitively the laudable vision of Yours: When are You going to grant me that vision? ஞானத் தெளிவு பெற்று, போற்றுதற்குரிய உன் தரிசனக் காட்சியை என்றைக்கு எனக்கு அருளப்போகிறாய்?

தெரி தமிழை உதவு சங்கப் புலவோனே (theri thamizhai udhavu sangap pulavOnE) : You came as the Sangam Poet who did extensive research in Tamil and made the language easy and comprehensible.யாவரும் தெரிந்து மகிழும்படி தமிழை ஆராய்ந்து உதவிய சங்கப் புலவனாக வந்தவனே,
Murugan took birth as Ugrapandiyan, King of Madhurai, and did extensive research in Tamil grammar and literature along with Sangham Poets.
