Paraphrase

நினது திருவடி சத்தி மயிற்கொடி நினைவு கருதிடு புத்தி கொடுத்திட (ninadhu thiruvadi saththi mayiRkodi ninaivu karudhidu buddhi koduththida) : (Oh Lord Muruga!) In order that I obtain the knowledge to meditate on Thy hallowed feet, Spear, Peacock and Rooster, (I will offer the following:)

நிறைய அமுதுசெய் முப்பழம் அப்பமும் நிகழ்பால்தேன் (niRaiya amudhusey muppazham appamu nigazh paal thEn) : bountiful sweet porridge, three kinds of fruits, sweet rice-cake (appam), fresh milk, honey

நெடிய வளைமுறி இக்கொடு லட்டுகம் நிறவில் அரிசி பருப்பவல் எட்பொரி (nediya vaLaimuRi ikkodu laddugam niRavil arisi paruppu aval eL pori ) : long, twisted and circular 'muRukku', sugarcane, laddu, bright hued rice, pulses, rice flakes, sesame seeds, puffed rice,

நிகரிலினி கதலிக்கனி வர்க்கமும் இளநீரும் (nigarilini kadhali kani vargamum iLaneerum ) : matchless varieties of sweet plantain and tender coconuts

மனது மகிழ்வொடு தொட்ட கரத்தொரு(manadhu magizhvodu thottaka raththoru) : (all such offerings) are happily held by those gracious hands;

மகர சலநிதி வைத்த துதிக்கர (magara chalanidhi vaiththa thudhikkara ) : the trunk kept in the ocean filled with the 'makara' fish; ஒப்பில்லாத மகர மீன்கள்‌ உள்ள கடலில்‌ வைத்த துதிக்கையையும்‌ உடைய; கணபதி கூர்மத்தை அடக்கிய போது அவர்‌ தமது துதிக்கையால்‌ கடல்‌ நீரெல்லாம்‌ உறிஞ்சினர்‌.; சலநிதி - the ocean. மகர – fish/marine life.
The reference is to the story of Ganesha playfully using his trunk to suck up and drink the entire milky ocean along with gods residing in it, and later spitting it out. When Adharma gains in strength, Ganesha uses his powerful trunk to suck up the entire water from earth. This will dry up the earth and the oceans. Then the fire hidden in the sea known as Vadavagni will reach up the sky and swallow the entire earth. This will result in the end of a cycle of creation. Thousands of human years later, Ganesha will once again pour water on earth from his trunk. This will signal the beginning of a new cycle of creation. Ganesha associated with end of creation is Dhumraketu or Dhumravarna.

திருப்பாற்கடலை கடைந்த போது மந்திர மலை கீழே அமுங்கியது. அதை தூக்கிப் பிடிக்க திருமால் ஆமை உருவம் எடுத்து அதை தாங்கினார். அதில் அவருக்கு இறுமாப்பு. கடலை கலக்கினார். சிவனார் பணிக்க பிள்ளையார் கடல் நீரை யெல்லாம் தன் தும்பிக்கையால் உறிஞ்சி பருகி விட்டார்.

வளரு கரிமுக ஒற்றை மருப்பனை வலமாக (vaLaru karimuga otrai maruppanai valamaaga ) : (I will) circumambulate (do 'pradakshina') of the elephant-faced god with a single tusk;

மருவு மலர்புனை தொத்திர சொற்கொடு (maruvu malarpunai thoththira soRkodu ) : I wish to pay my obeisance by offering His favourite flowers and praising Him with appropriate words of worship;

வளர்கை குழைபிடி தொப்பண குட்டொடு (vaLarkai kuzhaipidi thoppaNa kuttodu ) : raise my hands in salutation, hold my ears in 'thoppukaranam' and with the knuckles on my closed fist strike my forehead;

வனச பரிபுர பொற்பத அர்ச்சனை மறவேனே (vanasa paripura poRpadha arcchanai maRavEnE ) : and do 'archana' for the lotus-like feet embellished with anklets.

தெனன தெனதென தெத்தென னப்பல சிறிய அறுபத மொய்த்து உதிரப் புனல் (thenana thenathena theththena nappala siRiya aRupadha moyththu udhirap punal) : Swarms of small six-footed flies buzz making sounds 'thenana thenathena theththena' and infest over

திரளும் உறுசதை பித்த நிணக்குடல் செறிமூளை (thiraLum uRusadhai piththani Nakkudal seRimooLai ) : masses of flesh, intestines filled with bile juices and scattered pieces of brain

செரும உதர நிரப்பு செருக்குடல் (seruma udhara nirappu serukkudal) : densely filled stomachs and intestines

நிரைய அரவ நிறைத்த களத்திடை (niraiya arava niRaiththa kaLaththidai) : in the noisy battle field,

திமித திமிதிமி மத்தள இடக்கைகள் செகசேசே (thimidha thimithimi maththaLa idakkaigaL jega jE jE ) : the drums boom "thimidha thimithimi"and the left-handed drums (called idakkai) made the sound "jegajega jE"

எனவெ துகுதுகு துத்தென ஒத்துகள் துடிகள் இடிமிக ஒத்துமு ழக்கிட (enave thuguthugu thuththena oththugaL thudigaL idimiga voththu muzhakkida) : the trumpets and the hand-drums together thunder the deep and reverberating "thuguthugu thuthu";

டிமுட டிமுடிமு டிட்டிம் எனத்தவில் எழுமோசை (dimuda dimudimu dittim enaththavil ezhum Osai) : the percussion instruments sounded like "dimuda dimudimu dittim"

இகலி அலகைகள் கைப்பறை கொட்டிட (igali alagaigaL kaippaRai kottida) : the satans fight mutually and beat the drums with their hands; (ஒன்றோடொன்று) பகைத்த பேய்கள்‌ கைப்பறை கொட்ட,

இரண பயிரவி சுற்று நடித்திட (iraNa bayiRavi sutru nadiththida ) : the devils go round dancing; ரண பயிரவி (என்னும்‌ தேவதை போர்க்களத்தில்‌) சுற்றிக்‌ கூத்தாட,

எதிரு நிசிசரரைப் பெலி இட்டருள் பெருமாளே (edhiru nisichararai beli ittaruL perumaaLE) : as you kill every demon who confront you.

Brief Meaning

Oh my lord, you have valiantly fought the asuras and killed them in large numbers, filling the battle field with corpses. In order that I remember your feet, peacock and rooster flag, I will never forget to offer you rice, three types of fruits and always worship you with Thoppukaranam and other forms of worship.
