மனக்கவலை ஏதும் இன்றி உனக்கு அடிமையே புரிந்து வகைக்கு மநு நூல் விதங்கள் தவறாதே (manakkavalai Edhum indri unakku adimaiyE purindhu vagaikku manu nUl vidhangaL thavaRAdhE) : Without any worry in my mind, I would like to serve You, acting in accordance with the rules laid down in the scriptures;

வகைப்படி மனோரதங்கள் தொகைப்படியினால் இலங்கி (vagaippadi manOradhangaL thogaippadiyinAl ilangi) : get my desires fulfilled in a just way as per my heart's reckoning, நல்ல முறையில் மன விருப்பங்கள், எண்ணிய கணக்கின்படி கை கூடி வந்து விளங்கி,

மயக்கமற வேதமுங்கொள் பொருள் நாடி (mayakkamaRa vEdhamum koL poruL nAdi) : and understand without doubt the tenets expounded in the Vedas

வினைக்குரிய பாதகங்கள் துகைத்து உவகையால் நினைந்து (vinaikkuriya pAdhgangaL thugaiththu vagaiyAl ninaindhu) : shunning all actions that lead to bad karma and thinking of You with a happy mind

மிகுத்த பொருள் ஆகமங்கள் முறையாலே (miguththa poruL AgamangaL muRaiyAlE) : and following the methods expounded in the scriptures

வெகுட்சி தனையே துரந்து களிப்பினுடனே நடந்து (vegutchithanaiyE thurandhu kaLippinudanE nadandhu) : giving up anger and striding happily,

மிகுக்கும் உனையே வணங்க வரவேணும் (migukkum unaiyE vaNanga varavENum) : I should worship You in that happy state of mind. For this, You must manifest before me. (I need your Grace to be able to worship You)

மனத்தில் வருவோனே என்று உன் அடைக்கலம் அதாக வந்து மலர்ப்பதமதே பணிந்த முநிவோர்கள் (manaththil varuvOnE endRun adaikkalamadhAga vandhu malar padhamadhE paNindha munivOrgaL) : The sages who believed that You come to the heart the very minute one thinks of You and sought Your refuge and worshipped your flower-like feet “நினைப்பவருடைய மனத்தினில் எழுந்தருளுவோனே” என்று துதித்து, தங்கள் அடைக்கலத்தில் வந்து சேர்ந்து, மலர்ப் பாதங்களையே பணிந்த முநிவர்கள் பொருட்டு

வரர்க்கும் இமையோர்கள் என்பர் தமக்கும் மனமே இரங்கி (vararkkum imaiyOrgaL enbar thamakku manamE irangi) : respectable people, and devas or celestials – feeling pity for all of them, சிறந்த சான்றோர் பொருட்டும், தேவர்கள் பொருட்டும், திருவுள்ளம் கருணை செய்து,

மருட்டி வரு சூரை வென்ற முனைவேலா (maruttivaru sUrai vendRa munaivElA) : You conquered the suras or demons with Your sharp spear உலகங்களைப் பயமுறுத்தி வந்த சூரபன்மனை வென்ற கூரிய வேலாயுதத்தை உடையவரே!

தினைப் புனமுனே நடந்து குறக்கொடியையே மணந்து (thinai punamunE nadandhu kuRakkodiyaiyE maNandhu) : You walked along the millet field and married the gypsy woman Valli

செகத்தை முழுது ஆள வந்த பெரியோனே (jegaththai muzhudhu ALavandha periyOnE) : and came to rule over the entire universe, oh Great One!

செழித்தவளமே சிறந்த மலர்ப்பொழில்களே நிறைந்த (sezhiththa vaLamE siRandha malar pozhilgaLE niRaindha) : teeming with fertile lands and flower groves

திருப்பழநி வாழவந்த பெருமாளே.(thiruppazhani vAzha vandha perumALE.) : You came to dwell in the country Pazhani (as described in the previous line)
