Paraphrase

கவடு உற்ற சித்தர் சட் சமய ப்ரமத்தர் (kavadutRa siththar sat samaya pramaththar) : A few devious sidhdhas, and some religious zealots claiming to have mastered the six religions; கவடு உற்ற (kavadu utra) : deceptive/cunning; ப்ரமத்தர் (bramaththar) : become fanatic or insane;

நல் கடவுள் ப்ரதிஷ்டை பற்பலவாக கருதி (naR kadavuL pradhishtai paRpalavAkak karuthi ) : consider installing the best form of gods;

பெயர் குறித்து உரு வர்க்கம் இட்டு (peyar kuRiththu uru varkkam ittu) : choose names for these gods and cast them in many moulds (like statuettes, copper plates etc.).

இடர் கருவில் புக பகுத்து உழல்வானேன் (idark karuviRpu kappakuth thuzhalvAnEn) : Why do they roam about sowing divisive seeds of distrust leading to miserable births in several wombs?

சவடிக்கு இலச்சினைக்கு இரு கை சரிக்கும் (savadikku ilacchinaikku irukai charikkum) : For the sake of golden chains, rings, bangles for both the hands; சவடி(savadi) : ornament for the neck; இலச்சினை(ilacchinai) : ring (for the fingers); இரு கை சரி (irukai chari) : இரு கைகளிலும் அணியும் வளைகள்;

மிக்க சரப்பளிக்கு(ம்) என பொருள் தேடி (mikka sarappaLikkum ena poruL thEdi) : and classy diamond necklaces to be showered upon women, people go about in search of money; மிக்க சரப்பளி (mikka sarappaLi ) : diamond-studded necklace, மேலான வயிரம் பதித்த கழுத்தணி;

சகலத்தும் ஒற்றை பட்டு அயல் பட்டு நிற்கு நின் சரண ப்ரசித்தி சற்று உணராரோ (sakalaththu motRaipattu ayalpattu niRku niRcharaNapra siththi satRuNarArO) : can they not perceive in the least the greatness of Your hallowed feet which pervade every matter in the universe and, at the same time, stand apart distinctly?

குவடு எட்டும் அட்டு (kuvadettum attu) : After destroying Mount Krouncha and the seven fortress-hills (of SUran), குவடு (kuvadu) : mountain;

நெட்டு வரி கணத்தினை குமுற கலக்கி (nettu uvari kaNaththinai kumuRa kalakki) : after noisily stirring up the group of several wide seas, வரி கணம் (vari gaNam ) : group of seas;

விக்ரம சூரன் குடலை புயத்தில் இட்டு (vikramacUran kudalai puyaththil ittu) : and after wearing as garland on Your shoulders the intestines of the brave demon SUran,

உடலை தறித்து உருத்தி உதிரத்தினில் குளித்து எழும் வேலா (udalaiththa Riththuruth thuthiraththi niRkuLith thezhumvElA) : with Your spear, still fuming with rage, You split his body into two and bathed in the gushing blood, Oh Lord! உருத்தி = கோபித்து;;

சுவடு உற்ற அற்புத கவலை புனத்தினில் (suvadutRa aRputhak kavalai punaththinil) : In the wonderful millet field, there are marks of the gentle footsteps of VaLLi; சுவடு (suvadu) : marks; கவலை = தினை ;

துவலை சிமிழ்த்து நிற்பவள் நாண (Thuvalai simizhththu niRpavaL nANa) : She collects all the loose flowers, makes a garland and wears it shyly; துவல் (Thuval) : loose flowers that have not been strung; சிமிழ்த்தல் (simizhthal) : stringing (into garland); துவலைச் சிமிழ்த்து = உதிர்ந்த பூக்களை மாலையாகக் கட்டி;

தொழுது எத்து முத்த (thozhuthu eththu muththa) : and You worship her with praise, Oh realized one! தொழுது புகழந்த முத்தனே! எத்து/ஏத்து (Eththu) : to praise; முத்த/முக்த(muththa) : the emancipated one;

பொன் புரிசை செரும் தணி (poR purisaiccheruththaNi) : You are seated at ThiruththaNigai, surrounded by impressive walls. புரிசை செரும் (purisai serum) : surrounded by fort walls;
