தெய்வவா ரணவநிதை புனிதன் குமாரன்

சங்கார காலம் என அரி பிரமர் வெருவுற சகல லோகமும் நடுங்க ( sangaara kaalamena aribiramar veruvuRa sakala lOkamu nadunga) : Fearing it to be the time of dissolution at the end of the four yugas, Vishnu and Brahma tremble; all the worlds quiver in fear;

சந்த்ர சூரியர் ஒளித்து இந்த்ராதி அமரரும் சஞ்சலப்பட (chandhra sooriyar oLiththu indhraadhi amararum sanchalap pada ) : the sun and the moon hide themselves; Indra and other celestials get worried;

உமையுடன் கங்காளர் தனி நாடகம் செய்த போது அந்தகாரம் பிறந்திட (umaiyudan gangaaLar thani naadagam seydhapOdh andha kaaram piRanDida ) : when Parvati and Shiva who wears a garland of skeletons stage a play, and darkness engulfed everything;

நெடும் ககன கூடமும் மேலை முகடு மூடிய பசும் கற்றைக் கலாப மயிலாம் (nedum gagana koodamu mElai mugadu moodiya pasung katrai kalaapa mayilaam) : the peak of the cosmic sphere and the sky got hidden when the peacock spread its greenish plumes;

சிங்கார குங்கும படீர ம்ருக மத யுகள சித்ரப் பயோதர கிரித்தெய்வ வாரண வநிதை (singaara kungkuma pateera mrugamadha yugaLa chithrap payOdhara giri dheyva vaaraNa vanithai ) : With beautiful, kumkuma- and kasturi-smeared twin mountainous breasts, and brought up by the divine elephant, is Deivayaanai; பேரழகுடைய குங்கும நிறங் கொண்ட சாந்துக் கலவையையும், கஸ்தூரியையும் புனைந்த, இரண்டு அழகிய மலை போன்ற மார்பகங்களைக் கொண்ட தெய்வீகம் பொருந்திய ஐராவதத்தால் வளர்க்கப்பட்ட தேவயானையின், பயோதர = पय (drink)+ उदर (belly) = மார்பகங்கள்;

கீர்த்தி மாஅசுரர்கள் மடிய க்ரவுஞ்சகிரி கிழி பட நடாவு மயிலே. (keerththimaa asurargaL madiya kravunchagiri kizhipada nadaavu mayilE) : He rode the Peacock, splitting the Krauncha mountain and slaying the renowned and strong asuras.
