வெங்காள கண்டர்கைச் சூலமுந் திருமாயன்
வெற்றிபெறு சுடர் ஆழியும்

விபுதர்பதி குலிசமுஞ் சூரன் குலங் கல்லி
வெல்லா எனக்கருதியே

சங்க்ராம நீசயித் தருளெனத் தேவருஞ்
சதுர்முகனும் நின்றிரப்பச்

சயிலமொடு சூரனுடல் ஒருநொடியில் உருவியே
தனிஆண்மை கொண்ட நெடுவேல்

கங்காளி சாமுண்டி வாராகி இந்த்ராணி
கெளமாரி கமலாசனக்

கன்னிநா ரணிகுமரி த்ரிபுரைபயி ரவிஅமலை
கெளரிகா மாக்ஷிசைவ

சிங்காரி யாமளை பவாநிகார்த் திகைகொற்றி
த்ரியம்பகி அளித்த செல்வச்

சிறுவன்அறு முகன்முருகன் நிருதர்கள் குலாந்தகன்
செம்பொற் றிருக்கை வேலே.

வெங்காள கண்டர் கைச்சூலமும் திருமாயன் வெற்றிபெறு சுடர் ஆழியும் ( veng kaaLa kaNtar kai soolamun thirumaayan vetripeRu sudar aazhiyum) : 'The trishul in the hands of the One who holds poison (Lord Shiva) and the victorious radiant Chakrayudha in the hands of Lord Vishnu, வெங்காள கண்டர்(vengala kandar) : One whose neck holds the terrible poison; Shiva;

விபுதர் பதி குலிசமும் சூரன் குலம் கல்லி வெல்லா எனக் கருதியே ( vibudhar pathi kulisamum sooran kulang kalli vellaa enak karudhiyE) : and the thunderbolt or Vajrayudha of Indra, the god of the celestials, could not defeat Suran and his tribe'; thinking so

சங்க்ராம நீ சயித்து அருள் எனத் தேவரும் சதுர்முகனும் நின்று இரப்ப (sangraama neejayiththu aruLenath dhEvarum chathurmuganum nindru irappa) : "oh Warrior!You should win in the war, and help us," so prayed Brahma and the devas;

சயிலமொடு சூரன் உடல் ஒருநொடியில் உருவியே தனி ஆண்மை கொண்ட நெடுவேல் (sayilamodu sooranudal orunodiyil uruviyE thani aaNmai koNda neduvEl) : and Muruga, with his manly and chivalrous lance, pierced through both Kraincha mountain and the Suran's body;சயிலம்(sayilam) : mountain;

கன்னி நாரணி குமரி த்ரிபுரை பயிரவி அமலை கெளரி காமாக்ஷி (kanni naaraNi kumari thripurai bayiravi amalai gauri kaamaakshi ) : she is a virgin; she has the form of Vishnu; she is infantile; she governs the triple gods or trimurthies; she is the Shakti of Bhairava; She is blemishless; She is golden complexioned; she has eyes that fulfills the desires of the devotees;

சைவ சிங்காரி யாமளை பவாநி கார்த்திகை கொற்றி த்ரியம்பகி அளித்த செல்வ சிறுவன் (saiva singaari yaamaLai bavaani kaarththigai kotri thriyambaki aLiththa selva) : she is Shiva's consort, the beautiful Parvati; she is the emerald complexioned; she is Bhavani and Karthigai; She is the Durga who bestows victory; She has three eyes, and you are her son who gives the seekers the wealth of mukti; கொற்றம் (kotram) : victory; கொற்றி (kotri) : goddess of war; யாமளம் (yamaLam) : bluish green color;

அறுமுகன் முருகன் நிருதர்கள் குல அந்தகன் செம்பொன் திருக்கை வேலே.(siRuvan aRumugan murugan nirudharkaL kulaanthakan sempottrirukkai vElE ) : He is the six-faced god Murugan, He is the destroyer of the clan of demons; the golden lance in His auspicious hands is the powerful weapon which has the attributes described in the first part of the poem.
