Paraphrase

Whatever temptations I may encounter in this transient life, I should not get trapped in them and lose my morals, prays the poet.

அல்லில் நேரு மின் அது தானும் (allil nErum min adhu thAnum) : Transient as the lightning that flashes at night, அல் : இருட்டு, இரவு; மின் அது தானும் = மின்னல் தோன்றும் அந்நொடியளவு கூட ;

அல்லதாகிய உடல் மாயை (alladhAgiya udal mAyai) : this sorrow-filled body is illusory; ஸ்திரமற்ற மாயையாகிய உடல்; அல்லது = நிலையற்ற;

கல்லில் நேர அ வழி தோறும் (kallil nEra av vazhi thORum) : In this path of life that is hard as a stone,

கையும் நானும் உலையலாமோ (kaiyu nAnum ulaiyalAmO) : should my righteousness go astray and I be anguished? கையும் = என் ஒழுக்க நிலையும்;

சொல்லி நேர்படு முதுசூரர் தொய்ய ஊர் கெட (solli nEr padu mudhu sUrar thoyya vUr keda) : The towns of the bragging and strong asuras who confronted You in the battlefield were destroyed, தமது வீரத் திறனைச் சொல்லிக் கொண்டு எதிர்த்த பழைய சூரர்கள், அயர்ச்சியடையவும், அவர்களின் ஊர் பாழ்படவும்,,

விடும் வேலா (vidum vElA) : when Murugan aimed his spear.
