யிதுவே பயிராய்	விளைவாகி

யுடனே யவமா	யழியாதே
ஒருகால் முருகா பரமா குமரா
உயிர்கா வெனவோ	தருள்தாராய்
முருகா வெனவோர் தரமோ தடியார்
முடிமே லிணைதா	ளருள்வோனே
முநிவோ ரமரோர் முறையோ வெனவே
முதுசூ ருரமேல்	விடும்வேலா
திருமால் பிரமா வறியா தவர்சீர்

Paraphrase

எருவாய் கருவாய் தனிலே உருவாய் (eruvAy karuvAy thanilE uruvAy) : It takes shape as an embryo in the womb that is placed close to the excretory passage, it takes a human form, மலவாயிலுக்கு அருகே உள்ள கருப்பையிலே உருப் பெற்று,
'கருவாய்' என்றால் எதிலிருந்து 'தோற்றம்' எழுகிறதோ அது என்பது பொருள். 'எருவாய்' என்றால் எது கருவை வளரச்செய்கிறதோ அது என்பது பொருள்.

இதுவே பயிராய் விளைவாகி (idhuvE payirAy viLaivAgi) : and like a plant, it grows into its full size,

இவர் போய் அவராய் அவர் போய் இவராய் (ivarpOy avarAy avarpOy ivarAy ) : (and is caught up in the cycle of birth and death) Those who were present so far are gone today and those who died previously are born once again today. இவர் இவர் என்று இன்று இருப்பவராய் பின்பு இறந்த பின் அவர் அவர் என்று பேசப்பட்டு மறுபிறப்பில் இவர் இவர் என்று சொல்லும் படியாக

இதுவே தொடர்பாய் வெறி போல (idhuvE thodarbAy veRipOla) : This cycle goes on inexorably like mad. இப்படியே தொடர்ந்து பிறப்பதும் இறப்பதுமாக அறிவு மயங்கியவன் போலாகி,

ஒரு தாய் இரு தாய் பல கோடிய தாய் (oruthAy iruthAy pala kOdiya thAy ) : In the search for one mother, two mothers and a million mothers (in innumerable births),

உடனே அவமாய் அழியாதே (udanE avamAy azhiyAdhE) : I do not wish to end up decaying as a total waste;

ஓரு கால் முருகா பரமா குமரா உயிர் கா என ஓத அருள் தாராய். (orukAl murugA paramA kumarA uyir kAvena Odha aruL thArAy) : hence bless me so that I am able to implore "MurugA! The Supreme One! Kumara! Save me", at least once.

முருகா என ஓர் தரம் ஓதும் அடியார் (murugAvena Ortharam OdhadiyAr) : If Your devotees say 'MurugA' once,

முடி மேல் இணை தாள் அருள்வோனே (mudi mEl iNai thAL aruLvOnE) : You gracefully place Your two feet on their head.

முநிவோர் அமரோர் முறையோ எனவே ( munivOr amarOr muRaiyO enavE) : When the sages and the DEvAs pleaded "Is this (SUran's tyranny) fair?",

முது சூர் உரம் மேல் விடும் வேலா (mudhu sUr uram mEl vidum vElA) : You threw Your Spear to pierce the heart of SUran.

திருமால் பிரமா அறியாதவர் (thirumAl biramA aRiyAdhavar) : Vishnu and BrahmA could not fathom (the feet nor find the head of) SivA;

சீர் சிறுவா திருமால் மருகோனே (seer siRuvA thirumAl marugOnE) : You are that SivA's son and Vishnu's nephew.

செழு மா மதில் சேர் (sezhu mA madhil sEr) : Surrounded by strong fortresses and செழிப்புள்ள அழகிய மதில் சூழ்ந்த

அழகார் பொழில் சூழ் (azhagAr pozhil sUzh) : encircled by beautiful groves is the town, அழகு நிறைந்த சோலை சூழும்

திருவீழியில் வாழ் பெருமாளே.(thiru veezhiyil vAzh perumALE) : Thiruveezhimizhalai which is Your abode, Oh Great One! வீழிச் செடிகள் நிறைந்திருந்தமையால் வீழிமிழலை என்று பெயர் பெற்ற இந்த தலத்தில் திருமால் சக்கராயுதம் வேண்டி சிவபெருமானுக்கு அர்ச்சனை பண்ணும் போது குறைந்த ஒரு மலருக்காகத் தனது விழியை எடுத்து அர்ச்சித்துத் திருவாழி பெற்றார். திருஞானசம்பந்த சுவாமிகட்கும், திருநாவுக்கரசு சுவாமிகட்கும் சிவபிரான் படிக்காசு தந்தருளிய தலமும் இதுவே ஆகும்.
