மலைகள்கிடு கிடுகிடெனவே

Meaning

The Rooster danced vigorously, fluttering its plumes with such vehemence that it brought enormous havoc all around.

மகர சலநிதி சுவற (magara sala nithi suvaRa ) :The ocean where the Makara fish live dried up;

உரகபதி முடி பதற (uragapathi mudipathaRa) : the crowns on the heads of the thousand-headed serpent-king Adisesha trembled;

மலைகள் கிடுகிடுகிடெனவே (malaigaL gidu gidugidenavE) : the mountains shuddered;,

மகுட குட வட சிகரி முகடு படபட படென (magudakuda vada sigari mugadu pada pada padena ) : the multi-summitted Meru mountain, whose peaks look like pots, teetered,

மத கரிகள் உயிர் சிதறவே (matha karigaL uyir sithaRavE) : the frenzied elephants shed their lives in fear; கரி (kari) : elephant;

ககன முதல் அண்டங்கள் கண்ட துண்டப் பட (gagana muthal andangaL kanda thuNdap pada) : the sky or the devaloka and other worlds were shattered into pieces

கர்ச்சித்து இரைத்து அலறியே காரையாழிந் நகரர் மாரைப் பிளந்து சிறகைக் கொட்டி நின்று ஆடுமாம். ( garchiththu iraiththu alaRiyE kaaraiyaazhin nagarar maaraip piLanthu siRagaik kotti ninRu aadumaam) : Roaring noisily and screaming, the Rooster would tear apart the chests of asuras living in the town of Karaiyazhi and dance merrily, dashings its wings in jubilation. ஆழி (aazhi) : sea/ocean; காரை + ஆழி + நகர் = The town of Kaarai, close to the sea; this town is near Jaffna (Yazhpanam) in Lanka

That Rooster belongs to Parvati Devi's son who promenades on the peacock with His consorts Valli and Deivayanai.

காரை + ஆழி + நகர் சுக விமலை (suga vimalai) : She is the archetype of Sukha or bliss;

அமலை (amalai) : She is not tainted by the three malas such as Anava mala, Maya mala and Karma mala

பரை (parai) : She is the Parashakti, or the primordial cosmic energy that fills the umiverse;

இமயவரை தரு குமரி (imaiyavarai tharu kumari) : She is the daughter of Himalaya mountain; வரை (varai) : mountain;

துடி இடை (thudi idai) : She has slender waist like udukkai துடி (thudi) : a handheld drum called udukkai that is shaped like an hour-glass.

அனகை (anagai) : She is sinless;

அசலை (achalaiyaaL) : She is dormant like a mountain; அசலம் (achalam): That which is immovable, mountain;

சுதன் முருகன் (suthan murugan) : Her son is Murugan,

மதுர மொழி உழை வநிதை இப வநிதை துணைவன் (mathura mozhi uzhai vanithai iba vanithai thuNaivan) : He is the companion of Valli, the honey-tongued daughter of a deer and Deivayaanai, who is brought up by the elephant Airavata. உழை (uzhai): deer; இபம் (ibam): elephant;

எனது இதய நிலையோன் (enathu ithaya nilaiyOn) : He resides permanently in my heart;

திகுட திகுட திதிகுட தகுடதித குடதிகுட செக்கண செகக்கண எனத் திரு நடனம் இடு மயிலில் வரு குமர குருபரன் (thiguda thiguda thithiguda thagudathitha gudathiguda sekkaNa segakkaNa Enath thiru nadanam idu mayilil varukumara guruparan) : He promenades on the peacock who dances to the rhythm of ‘thiguda sega gaNa'

சேவல் திருத் துவசமே (sEval thiruth thuvasamE) : The banner in His hands carries the Rooster as an emblem.
