இருப்பு அவல் திருப்புகழ் விருப்பொடு படிப்பவர் இடுக்கினை அறுத்திடும் என ஓதும் (iruppaval thiruppugazh viruppodu padippavar idukkinai aRuththidum ena Odhum) : "Thiruppugazh (praising the glory of God) is like a pack of fried rice ('aval') that serves multiple uses in the long journey (of life) and it removes all obstacles of those who read it with interest and involvement," so declare (the following people); என ஓதும் (ena Odhum : so declare/assert;

இசை தமிழ் நடத்தமிழ் என துறை விருப்புடன் இலக்கண இலக்கிய கவி நாலும் (isaiththamizh nadaththamizh enaththuRai viruppudan ilakkaNa ilakkiya kavi nAlum) : the experts in Tamil Music, Tamil Drama and in other branches of Tamil romantic literature, grammarians, literatuers and poets who are capable of composing four most difficult branches of Tamil poetry;
