Paraphrase

சிவஞான புண்டரிக மலர் மாதுடன் (sivanjAna puNdarika malar mAdhudan ) : The Divine Union with ParAsakthi seated on the Lotus of Saivite Knowledge – சிவஞானம் என்னும் தாமரை மலரில் வீற்றிருக்கும் சிவமாதுடன்;

கலவி சிவ போகம் அன்பருக அறியாமல் (kalavi sivabOga manparuga a"riyAmal) : which is the most auspicious Bliss – yet I do not know how to experience and enjoy this Eternal Bliss; இணையும் மங்களகரமான பேரின்பத்தை நன்றாக அனுபவிக்கத் தெரியாமல்,

செக மீது உழன்று மல வடிவாயிருந்து (jega meedhu uzhandru mala vadivAy irundhu) : I have been roaming around this world as a personification of the three slags (namely arrogance, karma and delusion); இவ்வுலகில் அலைந்து திரிந்து, ஆணவம், கன்மம், மாயை என்ற மும்மல சொரூபமாகி;

பொது திகழ் மாதர் பின் செருமி அழிவேனோ (podhu thigazh mAdhar pin serumi azhivEnO ) : I have been chasing whores and should my life be so ruined?

தவ மாதவங்கள் பயில் அடியார் கணங்களொடு (thava mAdhavangaL payil adiyAr kaNangaLodu) : Along with the multitude of Your devotees who practise meditation and penance,

தயவாய் மகிழ்ந்து தினம் விளையாட (dhayavAy magizhndhu dhinam viLaiyAda) : I would like to mingle and play everyday in their company,

தமியேன் மலங்கள் இரு வினைநோய் இடிந்து அலற (thamiyEn malangaL iruvinai nOyidindh alaRa) : so that my three slags, the vicious cycle of birth and death, good and bad deeds, and all my diseases scream and are pulverized, அடியேனது மும்மலங்கள், பிறப்பு, இறப்பு, நல்வினை, தீவினை, நோய்கள் யாவும் அச்சமுற்று அலறி ஓடும்படியாகவும்,

ததி நாளும் முன் வர வேணும் (thadhi nALum vandhadhen mun varavENum) : You must come before me at the appropriate time! தக்க சமயத்தில் நாள் தோறும் பிரத்யக்ஷமாக என் முன்னால் நீ வரவேண்டும். ததி (thathi) : தக்க சமயம்;

உவகாரி அன்பர் பணி கலியாணி (uvakAri anbar paNi kaliyANi) : She is ever helpful, known as KalyANi by Her devotees; யாவர்க்கும் உதவி செய்பவளும், அன்பர்கள் பணிந்து போற்றும் கல்யாணியும்,

எந்தை இடம் உறை நாயகன் கவுரி சிவகாமி (endhai ida muRai nAyagan gavuri sivakAmi ) : She occupies the left side of our Lord SivA majestically and is known as Gowri and SivagAmi;

ஒளிர் ஆனையின் கரமில் மகிழ் மாதுளம் கனியை ஒருநாள் பகிர்ந்த (oLir Anaiyin karamil magizh mAdhuLam kaniyai oru nAL pagirndha) : Once, She gave the mAdhuLam (pomogranates) fruit to the Great elephant-faced VinAyagA; விளங்கும் யானை முக விநாயகனுக்குக் கரத்தில் மகிழும்படியாக மாதுளங் கனியை முன்பொருநாள் அளித்தவளும்;

உமை அருள் பாலா (umai aruL bAlA) : and She is UmA PArvathi - and You are Her Son!

அவமே பிறந்த எனை இறவாமல் (avamE piRandha enai iRavAmal) : Even if my birth in this world is a waste, I pray for immortality, வீண் காலம் போக்கும் பிறவியை எடுத்த எனக்கு இறவாத வரத்தைத் தந்து

அன்பர் புகும் அமுதாலயம் பதவி அருள்வோனே (anbar pugum amudhAlayam padhavi aruLvOnE) : and a seat in Your Divine Temple meant for Your devotees! அன்பர்கள் புகுகின்ற அமுதக்கோயிலாகிய உயர் நிலையை அருள்வோனே,

அழகா (azhagaa) : Oh Handsome One,

நகம் பொலியும் மயிலா (nagam poliyum mayila) :
நகம் (nagam) : the word has several meanings. Here, we can consider the meaning as 'mountain' or 'nail'. Accordingly, we can paraphrase in two ways:
You ride the peacock abounding in mountainous regions! மலை நிலத்தே விளங்கி வாழும் மயில் வாகனத்தை உடையவனே ;
or
You mount the peacock which has exquisite toe nails. கால் நகங்கள் விளங்கும் மயில் வாகனத்தை உடையவனே;

குறிஞ்சி மகிழ் அயிலா (ku"rinji magizh ayilA) : You love to stay in hilly regions, Oh Lord with the Great Spear! மலை நிலங்களில் மகிழ்ச்சி கொள்ளும் வேலாயுத கரனே!

புகழ்ந்தவர்கள் பெருமாளே.(pugazhndhavargaL perumALE.) : You are the beloved of all Your devotees who praise You, Oh Great One!
