நாடா பிறப்பு முடியாதோ எனக் கருதி (nAdA piRappu mudiyAthO enak karuthi) : Realizing that this endless cycle of birth/life (and death) is not worth being sought after eagerly, ஆராய்ந்து பார்த்து நாட விரும்பாததான இந்தப் பிறவித் தொழிலானது முடியாதோ என்று எண்ணி, நாடித் தேடி ஆராய்ந்து பாராத இந்தப் பிறவித் தொழிலுக்கு முடிவே கிடையாதோ என்று எண்ணி, நாடா (nAdA) : ஆராயாத;

நாயேன் அரற்று மொழி வினை ஆயின் (nAyEn aratru mozhi vinai Ayin) : I lament (that suffering is unending), but if this wailing is due to the karma in my previous birth, அடியேன் ஓலமிட்டு அலறும் இந்த மொழி என் முற்பிறவி வினையின் காரணத்தால்,

நாதா திருச்சபையில் ஏறாது சித்தம் என (nAthA thiruchchabaiyin ERAthu chiththam ena) : my Lord, my voice will never be approved in Your shrine or in Your mind. நாதனே, உன் திருச் சந்நிதியிலோ உன் மனத்திலோ ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட மாட்டாது என்பதை யான் உணர்ந்து,

நாலா வகைக்கும் உனது அருள் பேசி (nAlA vagaikkum unathu aruL pEsi) : So I speak of Your Glory in several ways; பலவிதமாக உன்னுடைய திருவருளின் பெருமையே பேசி,

வாடா மலர்ப் பதவி தாதா எனக் குழறி (vAdA malarp pathavi thAthA enak kuzhaRi) : repeatedly and slurredly entreat Your ever-fresh lotus feet! என்றும் வாடாத உனது திருவடி மலர் என்னும் முக்தியைக் கொடுத்தருள் கொடுத்தருள் என்று குழறி,

வாய் பாறி நிற்கும் எனை ( vAy pARi niRkum enai) : I stand before You with a torn mouth due to screaming Your name; வாய் கிழிபட்டு நிற்கும் எனக்கு

அருள் கூர வாராய் மனக் கவலை தீராய் (aruL kUra vArAy manak kavalai theerAy) : and You must come to me graciously to dispel my worries. உன் கிருபை கூடும்படி வந்தருள்வாயாக, என் மனத்துயரங்களெல்லாம் தீர்ப்பாயாக,

நினைத் தொழுது வாரேன் ( ninai thozhuthu vArEn) : Even though I never prostrate before You, உன்னைத் தொழுது வருதல் என்பதே இல்லாத எனக்கும்

எனக்கு எதிர் முன் வர வேணும் (enakku ethir mun vara vENum) : You must still come appearing right in front of me also! நேர் எதிரிலே முன்பு எழுந்தருளி வர வேண்டுகிறேன்.

சூடா மணிப்பிரபை ரூபா (chUdA maNip pirabai rUpA) : She has the bright form of the precious Divine gem; தெய்வமணியின் ஒளி விளங்கும் உருவத்தாளும்,

கனத்த அரி தோல் ஆசனத்தி(ganaththa ari thOl Asanaththi) : She is seated upon the hide of a great lion; and பெருமை வாய்ந்த சிங்கத்தின் தோலை ஆசனமாகக் கொண்டவளும் ஆகிய

உமை அருள் பாலா ( umai aruL bAlA) : Her name is UmA - You are Her son! உமாதேவி பார்வதி அருளிய குழந்தையே,

தூயா துதித்தவர்கள் நேயா (thUyA thuthiththavargaL nEyA) : You are of the purest form! You are very dear to all Your devotees! பரிசுத்த மூர்த்தியே, துதித்து வணங்குபவர்களின் நேயனே,

எமக்கு அமிர்த தோழா (emakku amirtha thOzhA) : For us, You are the greatest friend like the Divine Nectar! அடியேனுக்கு அமிர்தம் போல் வாய்த்த அருமைத் தோழனே,
