வந்து வந்து வித்து ஊறி (vanthu vanthu viththu URi) : Having taken manifold births in this world, after soaking in the semen again and again, உலகிலே தோன்றித் தோன்றி, விந்தாகிய சுக்கிலத்தில் ஊறி ஊறி,
என்றன் உடல் வெந்து வெந்து விட்டோட நொந்து (enRan udal venthu venthu vittOda nonthu) : and my body having been burnt repeatedly, exhausting me thoroughly; என் உடலானது பல முறை தீக்கு இரையாகி, இவ்வாறு ஓயாமல் வாடி துன்புற,
உயிரும் வஞ்சினங்களிற் காடு கொண்ட வடிவங்களாலே (uyirum vanchi nangaLiR kAdu koNda vadivangaLAlE) : As if it has vowed to take several births, my life has entered innumerable forms and shapes; உயிரும் பல பிறப்பு எடுப்பேன் என்று சபதம் செய்ததுபோல கணக்கற்ற உருவங்களை எடுத்து, காடு - மிகுதி; வஞ்சினம் (vanjinam) : an oath, a vow;
மங்கி மங்கி விட்டேனை ( mangi mangi vittEnai) : and in that process, I have suffered degeneration time and again. இவ்வாறு வருகின்ற எண்ணத் தொலையாத பிறவித் துயரால் முற்றும் அழிந்து போய் விட்ட என்னை,
உன்றனது சிந்தை சந்தொஷித்தாளு கொண்டு அருள (unRanathu sinthai santhoshith thALu koNdu aruLa) : In order that You take hold of me heartily, உன் திருவுள்ளம் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் ஏற்று ஆட்கொண்டருள,
வந்து சிந்துரத்து ஏறி அண்டரொடு தொண்டர் சூழ (vanthu sinthuraththu ERi yaNdarodu thondar chUzha) : You must come mounted on Your elephant, surrounded by the Celestials and Your devotees. நீ எழுந்தருளி, உன் யானை வாகனத்தில் ஏறி, தேவர்களும் அடியார்களும் சூழ்ந்து வர,
ஆளு கொண்டருள வந்து சிந்துரத்து ஏறி...அடியார்களை காப்பாற்றுவதற்காக முருகன் பிணிமுகம் என்ற யானை வாகனத்தின்மீது எழுந்தருளுவான்
எந்தன் வஞ்சனைக் காடு சிந்தி விழ (enthan vanjanaik kAdu sinthi vizha) : Bless me so that my birth, which is nothing but a jungle of delusions, is burnt down. எனது மாயை நிறைந்த பிறவிக்காடு பட்டழிய,
சந்தர் அண்டு இசைத் தேவர் அம்பையர் கனிந்து பந்தடித்து ஆடல் கொண்டு வர (santhar aNdisaith thEvar ambaiyar kaninthu panthadiththu Adal koNdu vara) : The Celestial girls, who are accomplished singers, must approach me liltingly, singing music rich in rhythm and dancing in devotional ecstasy, while playing with ball; சந்தமுடன் இசை பாடியவராக அருகில் நெருங்கி வரும், பாட்டிலேவல்ல தேவ மங்கையர் பக்தியில் கனிவுற்று, பந்தடித்து நடனத்துடன் கூடிவர,; சந்து (santhu) : சந்தம் ; சந்தர்(santhar) : சந்தம் மிகுந்த இசை பாடும் ; அண்டு (aNdu) : நெருங்கி வந்த, இணைந்த;
மந்தி மேவும் எண் கடம்பணித் தோளும் (manthi mEvum eN kadampaNith thOLum) : With beetles crowding around the kadappa garlands adorning Your shoulders, வண்டுகள் விரும்பி மொய்க்கும் கடப்பமாலை அணிந்த தோள்களும், மந்தி (manthi) : வண்டு;
அம்பொன் முடி சுந்தரந் திருப் பாத பங்கயமும் (am pon mudi sunthara thirup pAtha pangayamum) : Your pretty golden lock of hair and Your lovable beautiful lotus feet, அழகிய பொன்முடியும், காண்போர் விரும்பும் எழிலான திருவடித் தாமரைகளும்,
என்றன் முந்துறத் தோணி உன்றனது சிந்தை தாராய் (enRan munthuRath thONi unRanathu sinthai thArAy) : You must appear before me and bless me with a mind that thinks only of You!என் முன்பே முற்புற நீ தோன்றி, உன்னையே நினைக்கும்படியான உள்ளத்தை எனக்குத் தந்தருள்வாயாக.
அந்தரம் திகைத்தோட(antharam thigaiththu Oda) : The celestials ran away awestruck; விண்ணில் உள்ளார் பிரமித்து ஓட,
விஞ்சையர்கள் சிந்தை மந்திரத்தோட (vinjaiyargaL sinthai manthirath thOda) : The Vidhyadharas (the learned in the Heaven) ran away worried; வித்யாதரர்கள் மனக்கவலையுடன் ஓட,
கெந்தருவர் அம்புயன் சலித்தோட (gentharuvar ambuyan saliththOda) : The Divine Musicians and BrahmA Himself fled demoralised; கந்தர்வர்களும், பிரமனும் மனம் சோர்வடைந்து ஓட,
எண்டிசையை உண்ட மாயோன் (eNdisaiyai uNda mAyOn) : Vishnu, the ultimate mystic credited with devouring the earth, spread out in all eight directions, எட்டுத்திசையிலும் பரந்த பூமியை உண்ட மாயனாம் திருமாலும்
அஞ்சி உன் பதச் சேவை தந்திடென (anji un pathach sEvai thanthidena) : was so scared that He fell at Your feet seeking refuge; அச்சமுற்று உன் திருவடி சேவையைத் தந்து காத்தருள்க எனக் கூற,
வந்த வெஞ்சினர்க் காடு எரிந்து விழ (vantha venjinark kAdu erinthu vizha) : when the opposing wild demons, spread out like a forest, were burnt down, எதிர்த்து வந்த கோபத்தினரான அசுரர்களின் காடு போன்ற பெருங் கூட்டம் எரிபட்டு விழ,
அங்கியின் குணக் கோலை உந்தி விடு செங்கை வேலா (angiyin guNak kOlai yunthividu sengai vElA) : by the fiery Spear that was shot off by You from Your reddish hand, Oh VElA! நெருப்பின் தன்மையை உடைய வேலைச் செலுத்திய செங்கை வேலனே,
சிந்துரம் பணைக் கோடு கொங்கை குறமங்கை (sinthuram paNaik kOdu kongai kuRa mangai) : VaLLi, the damsel of the KuRavAs, with prominent breasts looking like the ivory tusks of the elephant யானைத் தந்தங்கள் அனைய மார்புடைய குறத்தி வள்ளி
இன்புற தோள் அணைந்து உருக (inbuRath thOL aNainthu uruga) : was exhilarated when You hugged her shoulders passionately! மகிழும்படியாக அவளது தோள்களை அணைந்து உருகி நின்றவனே,
சிந்துரந்தனைச் சீர் மணம் புணர் நல் கந்த வேளே (sinthuram thanai seer maNam puNAr nal kantha vELE) : You had a grand wedding with DEvayAnai, the daughter brought up by an elephant (AirAvatham), Oh Lord KanthA! யானை வளர்த்த தேவயானையைச் சிறப்புடன் திருமணம் செய்து கொண்ட கந்தவேளே,
முன் புரக் காடு சிந்தி மங்க நகை (mun purak kAdu sinthi manga nagai) : Once, the forest called Thiripuram was destroyed by His mere smile that ignited a huge fire (emanating from His fiery eye); முன்பு, திரிபுரங்கள் என்ற காடு சிதறுண்டு அழிய, சிரிப்பாலே பெரு நெருப்பை ஏவிய
கொண்ட செந்தழற் கோலர் (koNda sem thazhaR kOlar) : He has a fire-like reddish complexion; செந்தழலின் நிறத்தை உடையவரும்,
அண்டர் புகழ் செம்பொன் அம்பலத்தாடும் (aNdar pugazh sempon ampalaththAdum) : and He dances the Cosmic dance on the golden stage (in Chidhambaram) praised by the Celestials. தேவர்கள் புகழும் செம்பொற் சபையிலே திருநடனம் புரிந்தவருமான
அம்பலவர் தம்பிரானே.(ambalavar thambirAnE.) : He is SivA, the great Deity of the Stage, and You are His Master, Oh Great One! அம்பலவாணராம் சிவபெருமானின் குருநாதத் தம்பிரானே.
