முந்து தமிழ் மாலை கோடி கோடி சந்தமொடு நீடு பாடி பாடி முஞ்சர் மனை வாசல் தேடி தேடி உழலாதே ( mundhu thamizh mAlai kOdik kOdi sandhamodu needu pAdip pAdi munjar manai vAsal thEdith thEdi uzhalAdhE) : Composing millions of poems in various meters in Tamil, the foremost language, and singing them relentlessly, wandering from the home of one mortal to another; Instead of being mired in a life like this, முஞ்சர் = இறந்துபோகின்ற கீழ்மக்கள், mortals;

முந்தை வினையே வராமல் போக (mundhai vinaiyE varAmal pOga ) :and in order that my past karmas do not follow me,

மங்கையர்கள் காதல் தூரத்து ஏக ( mangaiyargal kAdhal dhUraththu Ega) : and the lust for women remains at large,

முந்து அடிமையேனை ஆளத்தானும் ( mundhu adimaiyEnai ALath thAnum munaimeedhE) : Appear before me, your old slave, and rule me, முந்து அடிமையேனை = வழிவழி அடிமைப்பட்ட பழமையான தொண்டனாகிய அடியேனை;

முனை மீதே திந்திதிமி தோதி தீதித் தீதி தந்தன தான தானத் தான செஞ்செணகு சேகு தாளத் தோடு நடமாடும் ( dhindhidhimi thOdhi theedhi theedhi thandha thana thAna thAnath thAna chenjeNagu chEgu thALath thOdu nadamAdum) : In the battle field, (Your peacock) dances to the meter 'thinthithimi.....'; முனை மீது = போர்க்களத்தினிடம்;

செஞ் சிறிய கால் விசாலத் தோகை துங்க அநுகூல பார்வைத் தீர செம்பொன் மயில் மீதிலே எப்போது வருவாயே (chenchiRiya kAl visAla thOgai thunga anukUla pArvai theera sempon mayil meedhilE eppOdhu varuvAyE ) :When will you come mounting the valorous Peacock with little reddish paws, wide colourful plumes, pure and benevolent vision;

அந்தண் மறை வேள்வி காவல் கார ( andhaN maRai veLvi kAval kAra) : You are the Protector of vedic sacrifices (முருகப்பெருமான் யாகத்திற்குக் காவல் காத்த வரலாறு) done by people with beautiful and cool minds; You wear garlands of poems composed in sweet Tamil; அந்தண் (andhaN ) : People with cool and beautiful thoughts; மறை வேள்வி(maRai veLvi ) : Yagnas or fire sacrifices done in accordance with vedic prescriptions;

செம் தமிழ் சொல் பாவின் மாலைக்கார ( sem thamizh sol pAvin mAlai kAra) : You wear garlands of poems composed in sweet Tamil; செவ்வையான தமிழ்மொழியாகிய, புகழ்ப் பாக்களாலாகிய பிரபந்தங்களை, மாலையாகத் தரித்துக் கொள்பவரே!

அண்டர் உபகார சேவல் கார (aNdar ubakAra sEvaRkAra ) : You are the Benefactor of all DEvAs in Heaven, You hold the staff of the Holy Rooster,

முடி மேலே அஞ்சலி செய்வோர்கள் நேயக் கார ( mudimElE anjali seyvOrgaL nEyakkAra a) : You are the Friend of those who venerate You with hands joined over their heads;

குன்று உருவ ஏவும் வேலைக் கார ( kundru uruva Evum vElaikkAra) : You hold the Spear that pierced through the (Krouncha) Mount; வேலைக்கார = ஞானசக்தியாகிய வேலாயுதத்தை உடையவரே!

அந்தம் வெகுவான ரூபக்கார ( andham veguvAna rUpak kAra) : You are the most handsome one, மிகுந்த அழகுடைய, திருமேனியைக் கொண்டவரே!

எழிலான சிந்துர மின் மேவு(ம்) போகக் கார ( ezhilAna sindhuramin mEvu bOgak kAra) : You enjoy the company of the beautiful Devasena,

விந்தை குற மாது வேளைக் கார ( vindhai kuRamAdhu vElaikkAra ) : You are the body guard of the magnificent hunter girl VaLLi with whom you spend your leisure hours; வேளைக்கார = பொழுதைப் போக்குபவரே

செம் சொல் அடியார்கள் வாரக் கார ( senchol adiyArgaL vArakkAra ) : You love the sweet-tongued devotees who sing Your praise, வாரக்கார = அன்புடையவரே!

எதிரான செம் சமரை மாயும் மாயக் கார ( edhirAna senchamarai mAyu mAyak kAra ) : You are the magician who annihilates enemies in battles, எதிர் ஆன = போர்க்களத்தில் எதிர்த்து வந்த; செஞ் சமரை = உதிரப் பெருக்கத்தால் சிவந்த அசுரர்களின் யுத்தத்தை, மாயும் மாயக்கார = இமைப் பொழுதில் மாயக்காரன்போல் மாய்த்தவரே!

துங்க ரண சூர சூறைக் கார ( thungaraNa sUra sURai kAra ) : You are the hurricane that blew away Suran (demon) in the battlefield, and துங்க ரண சூர = பரிசுத்தமான போர்வீரனாகிய சூரபன்மனை; சூறைக்கார = சண்டமாருதம் போல் அழித்தவரே!
