தலை மயிர் கொக்குக்கு ஒக்க நரைத்து (thalai mayir kokkukku okka naraiththuk) : My hair has become gray like the crane's feather; தலை மயிரானது கொக்கின் இறகு போல நரைத்தும்,

கலகலெனப் பற் கட்டது விட்டு (kalakala enap paR kattathu vittu) : my strong teeth have begun to loosen and shake; கலகல என்று பல்லின் கட்டுக்கள் யாவும் விட்டும்,

தளர் நடை பட்டுத் தத்தடி இட்டு தடுமாறித் (thaLar nadai pattuth thaththadi ittuth thadumARi) : I struggle to walk and my steps are faltering; தளர்ந்த நடை ஏற்பட்டு, தத்தித்தத்தி அடிகளை வைத்தும், தடுமாற்றத்துடன்

தடிகொடு தத்தி (thadi kodu thaththi) : I manage to limp with the help of a walking stick; கம்பை ஊன்றித் தள்ளாடி நடந்தும்,

கக்கல் பெருத்திட்டு அசனமும் விக்கி (kakkal peruththittu asanamum vikki) : I am coughing non-stop; the food gets stuck in my throat, causing hiccups, இருமல் தொடர்ந்து பெருகியும், உணவு தொண்டையில் அடைத்து விக்கல் எடுத்தும் ,

சத்தி எடுத்துச் (chaththi eduththu) : and I vomit uncontrollably; வாந்தி எடுத்தும், சத்தி (saththi) : vomiting, to belch or spew with force or violence;

சளியு மிகுத்து பித்தமு முற்றிப் பலகாலும் (chaLiyum miguththup piththamu mutRi pala kAlum) : the phlegm accumulates, and bile has increased. சளி அதிகரித்தும்,பித்தமும் பலத்துப் போய், பல தடவையும்

தில தயிலத்திட்டு ஒக்க எரிக்க ( thila thayilaththittu okka erikka) : The body feels as though it's being fried in sesame oil; எள் எண்ணெயில் இட்டு எரித்தல் போல் உடம்பு எரிச்சல் உண்டாக,

திரிபலை சுக்குத் திப்பிலி இட்டு தெளிய வடித்து உற்று துய்த்து (thiripalai chukku thippili ittu theLiya vadiththu utRu thuyththu) : The mixture of mustard, nelli and thAnRi, called thripalai, along with dry ginger and thippili is made into a concoction, filtered and is fed to me; கடுகு, நெல்லி, தான்றி ஆகிய மூன்றும் சேர்ந்த திரிபலை, சுக்கு, திப்பிலி முதலியவற்றை இட்டு வறுத்து, கஷாயஞ் செய்து, தெளிய வைத்து வடிகட்டி, அதனைப் பருகி,

உடல் செத்திட்டு உயிர் போ முன் (udal seththittu uyir pOmun) : My body dies again and again; and before my life leaves the body, உடல் செத்துப்போய், உயிர் நீங்குவதற்கு முன்னாலே,

திகழ் புகழ் கற்று சொற்கள் பயிற்றி (thigazh pugazh katRu choRkaL payitRi) : I want to learn all about Your glory and practise the words of worship; விளங்கும் உனது திருப்புகழைக் கற்று, அப்புகழுக்கு உண்டான சொற்களைப் பழகுமாறு செய்து,

திருவடியைப் பற்றித் தொழுதுற்று (thiruvadiyaip patRi thozhuth utRu) : I want to hold Your two feet firmly and prostrate at them; உன் திருவடிகளைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு தொழுது வணங்கி,

செனனம் அறுக்கைக்கு பர முத்திக்கு அருள் தாராய் (chenanam aRukkaikkup para muththikku aruL thArAy) : and I want to sever the vicious cycle of birth and reach the blissful heaven. Kindly bless me graciously. பிறப்பை அறுப்பதற்கு மேலான மோக்ஷத்திற்குத் திருவருளை அருள்வாயாக.

கலணை விசித்துப் பக்கரை இட்டு (kalaNai visiththup pakkarai ittu) : The reins were held tightly and the hooves were provided with guards சேணத்தை இறுக்கக் கட்டி, அங்கவடியை அமைத்து,

புரவி செலுத்திக் (puravi seluththi) : driving the army of horses; குதிரைப் படையை நடத்தி,

குலிசன் மகட்குத் தப்பியு (kulisan makadkuth thappiyu) : You gave the slip to DEvayAnai, daughter of IndrA with the weapon VajrAyutha (mace), and வஜ்ராயுதப் படையுள்ள இந்திரன் மகளாம் தேவயானைக்குத் தப்பியும்

மற்று அக் குறவர் மகட்கு சித்தமும் வைத்து (matRak kuRavar magadkuch chiththamum vaiththu) : went after VaLLi, the damsel of the KuRavAs, to whom You lost Your heart, குறவர் மகளாம் வள்ளிக்கு மனத்தைப் பறிகொடுத்தும்,

குளிர் தினை மெத்தத் தத்து புனத்திற் திரிவோனே (kuLir thinai meththa thaththu punaththiR thirivOnE) : and roamed around in the millet-field with plenty of cool millet! குளிர்ந்த தினை மிகுதியாக விளைகின்ற தினைப்புனத்திலே அலைந்து திரிந்தவனே,

கொடிய பொருப்பைக் குத்தி முறித்து (kodiya poruppaik kuththi muRiththu ) : The mighty and evil mount of Krouncha was pierced by Your spear and destroyed; கொடுமையான கிரெளஞ்சமலையை வேலால் குத்தி அழித்து,

சமரம் விளைத்துத் தற்பரம் உற்று (samaram viLaiththu thaRparam utRu) : You caused a major war; and towered above all! போரை விளைவித்து, தானே மேலானவனாக நின்று,

குலகிரியிற் புக்குற்று உறை உக்ரப் பெருமாளே.(kulagiriyiR pukkutRu uRai ugrap perumALE.) : You reside with relish in the loftiest mountain in a fierce form, Oh Great One! மேலான மலையிற் சென்று பொருந்தி வீற்றிருக்கின்ற பெருஞ்சினத்துப் பெருமாளே.
