Paraphrase

விரகற நோக்கியும் உருகியும் வாழ்த்தியும் (viragaRa nOkkiyum urugiyum vAzhththiyum) : I would like to look right into Your eyes without any manipulation, with a melting mind and singing Your glory with, விரகு = வஞ்சனை, தந்திரம்;

விழி புனல் தேக்கிட அன்பு மேன்மேல் மிகவும் (vizhi punal thEkkida anbu mEnmEl migavum) : my eyes filled with tears; my love for You swelling constantly; and

இராப்பகல் பிறிது பராக்கற (irA pagal piRidhu parAkkaRa) : day and night, I should concentrate only on You and nothing else.

விழைவு குராப் புனையுங் குமார (vizhaivu kurA punaiyum kumAra) : "Oh KumarA, You love to wear garlands of kurA flowers;

முருக ஷடாக்ஷர சரவண கார்த்திகை முலைநுகர் பார்த்திப (muruga shadAkshara saravaNa kArththigai mulai nugar pArththiba) : Oh MurugA, ShadAksharA (six-lettered Lord), SaravaNabavA, Oh King, who as a child suckled the breasts of Karthigai women"

என்று பாடி மொழி குழறாத் தொழுது அழுதழுது (endru pAdi mozhi kuzhaRAth thozhuthu azhuthu azhuthu ) : I would like to sing thus, worship with fumbling words and repeated cries,

ஆட்பட முழுதும் அலாப்பொருள் தந்திடாயோ (Atpada muzhudhum alApporuL thandhidAyO) : and be completely under Your sovereignty; For this, would You not give me the Eternal Knowledge that is beyond anything else in this world? உலகப் பொருட்கள் யாவற்றையும் கடந்த ஞானப் பொருளை அடியேனுக்குத் தரமாட்டாயா?
முழுதும் அலாப்பொருள் = இந்த உலகம் முழுவதும் பரவி இருக்கும் பொருட்கள் ஒன்றும் இல்லாத (அவற்றை கடந்த) பொருள்;

பரகதி காட்டிய விரக (paragathi kAttiya viraga) : You showed me the path to Eternal Bliss, Oh the Cleverest One! உபதேச மூலமாக மோக்ஷ வீட்டைக் காட்டிய சாமர்த்தியசாலியே,

சிலோச்சய பரம பராக்ரம (silOcchaya parama parAkrama) : You are the King of all mountains! You are the greatest warrior! குறிஞ்சி நிலத் தலைவரே! சிறந்த வலிமை உடையவரே! சிலோச்சய/சிலா+உஜ்ஜய (silOchchaya/sila+ujjaya) : one who has won over the mountain; மலை அரசனே,

சம்பராரி பட விழியாற் பொரு பசுபதி (sambarAri pada vizhiyAR poru pasupathi) : Shiva who burnt down Manmathan (Love God) by the glance of His fiery eye; சம்பரனைக் கொன்ற மன்மதன் சாம்பலாய் அழிய நெற்றிக்கண் கொண்டு போர் செய்த சிவபெருமான் சம்பராரி (sambarAri) : enemy of Sambaran, Manmatha;

போற்றிய பகவதி பார்ப்பதி தந்த வாழ்வே ( pOtriya bagavathi pArppathi thandhavAzhvE) : worshipped Bhagavathi, also known as PArvathi, and she delivered You, our Treasure!

இரைகடல் தீப்பட நிசிசரர் கூப்பிட (iraikadal theeppada nisicharar kUppida) : The sea with noisy waves caught fire; the demons (asuras) started yelling and screaming;

எழுகிரி ஆர்ப்பெழ வென்ற வேலா (ezhugiri yArppezha vendravElA) : and the seven hills of Mount Krouncha group shook violently, when You won Your victory, Oh Lord with the Spear!

இமையவர் நாட்டினில் நிறைகுடி ஏற்றிய (imaiyavar nAttinil niRaikudi yEtriya) : You redeemed DEvAs' land and settled them there safely!

எழுகரை நாட்டவர் தம்பிரானே.(ezhukarai nAttavar thambirAnE.) : You are praised by the people of EzhukarainAdu, Oh Great One!
