எனக்கு என யாவும் படைத்திட நாளும் இளைப்பொடு காலம் தனில் ஓயா ( enakkena yAvum padaiththida nALum iLaippodu kAlam thanil OyA) : In order to procure for my every need, I toil relentlessly for days on;

எடுத்திடு காயம் தனை கொடு மாயும் இலச்சை இலாது என் பவம் ஆற ( eduththidu kAyam thanaikkodu mAyum ilacchai ilAthen bavamARa ) : I enter many bodies (several births) and then die; In order that the sin of such shameless existence ends; இலச்சை ( ilacchai) : shame;

உனை பல நாளும் திருப்புகழாலும் உரைத்திடுவார் தங்குளி மேவி (unai pala nALum thiruppugazAlum uraiththiduvAr tham kuLi mEvi) : I should go to the dwellings of the devotees who have been singing or studying Tiruppugazh for a long time, தங்கு உளி மேவி = தங்குகின்ற இடத்துக்குச் சென்று,
