ஊனும் தசை உடல் தான் ஒன்பது வழி (Unum dhasai udal thAn onbadhu vazhi) : The body consisting of flesh and muscles comes along with nine portals (two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, a mouth and two excretory organs.)

ஊரும் கருவழி ஒருகோடி (Urum karuvazhi oru kOdi) : and takes millions of births through the womb. (To end the miserable birth cycle,)

ஓதும் பல கலை கீதம் சகலமும் ஓரும் படி (Odhum palakalai geetham sagalamum) : whatever holy writings that I read, the music I practise and all other learnings I acquire, I must realise their significance; நான் படிக்கின்ற சாத்திர நூல்களையும், இசை ஞானத்தையும் மற்ற எல்லா கற்கவேண்டியவையும் யான் உணரும்படியாக ஓரும் படி (Orum padi) : உணரும் படி;

உனது அருள் பாடி (Orumpadi unadhu aruL pAdi) : To enable me to sing Your glory,
